About Castings and More

A sourcing, purchasing, and logistics partner built on decades of hands-on manufacturing experience.

Who We Are

Castings and More is a sourcing, purchasing, and logistics company. We identify and recommend suppliers from a network of 50+ vetted foundries, forge shops, stamping operations, and machine shops across the U.S., Mexico, Canada, China, and India.

When you submit an RFQ, you issue a single purchase order to our U.S. company, not four supplier relationships across different time zones. All import orders are processed through us. DDP pricing is available where it makes sense.

Mike spent 30 years inside Pacific Steel Casting, which ranked as the third-largest steel foundry in the U.S. When a supplier says they run a tight quality system or hold demanding tolerances, he knows the right questions to ask and what good answers look like.

Mike Emmerichs

Mike Emmerichs spent 30 years at Pacific Steel Casting Company in Berkeley, California, which at its peak ranked as the third-largest steel foundry in the United States. He started in the metallurgical lab, moved into production control, and worked his way up through production control manager, assistant operations manager, VP of Operations, and ultimately VP of Customer Service & Sales.

After nearly three decades at Pacific Steel Casting, Mike continued in production and sales leadership roles — as Production Manager at Terminal Manufacturing Company and Sales Manager at MXG Manufacturing — deepening his experience on both the operations and commercial sides of the business. He founded Castings and More in 2019 to put that full career to work for customers who need a sourcing partner who actually understands what they're buying.

Mike knows the difference between a Disamatic line and a Hunter mold, what to ask a forge shop, and when a supplier's quality claims actually hold up. That’s 30 years of production experience applied directly to sourcing decisions.

Why Castings and More?

One Purchase Order. One Invoice. One Contact.

Whether your parts come from a domestic foundry or four different countries, you issue a single PO to Castings and More and have one contact for every question, schedule update, and quality issue.

Supplier Selection Backed by Over 30 Years Inside the Industry

Mike has been inside these facilities. He knows the difference between a Disamatic line and a Hunter mold, which forge shops are reliable on tight tolerances, and which quality certifications reflect actual process capability.

Domestic or Global, Based on Your Requirements

ITAR-compliant domestic supply, Buy American compliance, near-shore flexibility through Mexico and Canada, or cost-competitive global options. The recommendation is driven by your specs and constraints, not a geography preference.

All Global Orders Through One U.S. Company

Import orders from Mexico, Canada, China, or India are purchased and processed through our U.S. company. DDP pricing is available, giving you a firm landed cost that includes freight, customs, and duties.

Common Questions

Direct answers to the questions we hear most often.

Do you own the foundries in your network?

No. We are a sourcing and purchasing intermediary with established relationships across a vetted network of domestic and international suppliers. This means we recommend the right supplier for your part, not the most convenient one.

Why work with a sourcing partner instead of going direct to a foundry?

Going direct makes sense if you already know which foundry is right for your part, material, tolerance, and volume. If you don't, you may spend months qualifying the wrong supplier. Mike's 30 years inside a major steel foundry means he can typically identify the right match faster, and knows which supplier quality claims will hold up before you commit to tooling.

How does pricing work?

For global orders, you issue one purchase order to Castings and More and receive one invoice. DDP pricing is available, meaning freight, customs, and duties are included in the quoted price. For domestic orders, we work directly with the supplier on your behalf. The structure varies based on what works best for your situation, but you always have one point of contact.

How quickly do you respond to RFQs?

Typically within one business day for an initial response. Complex multi-part programs or requirements that need supplier consultation may take longer, and we'll tell you up front.

What if parts arrive out of spec?

We manage the quality claim with the supplier directly. You work with us, not with a foreign foundry. We handle the communication, inspection coordination, and resolution.

Can I specify domestic-only supply?

Yes. Domestic preference is honored for ITAR compliance, Buy American requirements, or lead time reasons. We'll tell you when a domestic option isn't available rather than substitute without asking.
